We’re not so sure. Neither is the Justice Department. DOJ says it will send federal monitors to polling sites to “ensure transparency, ballot security and compliance with federal law.”

New Jersey is a state that automatically sends an absentee ballot in every election to anyone who signs up. Parts of the state – Jersey City, Hoboken, and Paterson in Passaic County – have a long and sordid history of fraudulent mail-in votes.

One reason the Trump Justice Department is sending election monitors to Passaic County is that its Board of Elections had blocked security cameras in ballot storage areas and won’t require sign-in logs for workers handling mail-in ballots.

Passaic County certainly has problems. Last June, a former municipal court judge pleaded guilty to falsifying voting records. Two Paterson City Council members are under indictment over forged mail-in ballots.

These are the threats to the very democracy that the Left says they are against.
