1) Red State, Blue State, Rich State, Poor State

We apologize that you’ve heard this story from us before, but the latest jobs numbers in the 50 states again confirm which states have achieved full economic recovery, and which are a trainwreck.

The map below shows the full-employment states with unemployment rates of 3 to 5% (shaded in red) and the states shaded in red that are between 8 and 11% unemployment (shaded in blue) – which are mired in deep recession.

US map

Notice the pattern. The high unemployment rates are mostly found in the “progressive” states – New York, New Jersey and California, for example.

Conversely, with the exception of Vermont (Republican governor) and Minnesota, the low unemployment rate states are red as a rose.  Biden says he doesn’t “see red states and blue states, just one America.” What he means by that is that he wants to make all the states as sick as the blue states.
