Big scandal in Michigan brewing: Gov. Gretchen Whitmer implemented a Cuomo-like must-admit nursing home policy with Cuomo-like results and, it now appears, she engaged in a Cuomo-like cover-up.

Whitmer’s health department claimed there were a total of 5,675 deaths, while the Michigan state auditor just reported a tally of 8,061, 42% higher than Whitmer first reported.

The governor’s defense was that the auditor included facilities that are exempt from mandatory reporting, but it was the governor’s health department that issued the reporting directive excluding them in the first place! And exempt account for only 923 of the previously unreported 2,386 deaths. Cuomo has been removed from office in disgrace. Why not Whitmer?
