We’ve made this point in past editions of the Hotline, but now Politico, a lefty beltway publication, confirms what we’ve been saying. Here is their recent headline:

Politico points out that republican voter registrations in the Sunshine State are growing much more rapidly than the Democratic rolls. There are now a record 5.14 million registered Republicans in Florida.

The article also notes; “One of the trends that is driving this continued surge for Republicans in Florida is what’s happening with Hispanics. One analysis shows that there were 192,500 more Hispanic Democrats in South and Central Florida than Hispanic Republicans during the 2020 general election. That margin has shrunk by more than 35,000 since then.”

Politico’s Bottom line: “Florida is no longer a battleground state.”
