We mentioned last week that Spain is placing strict limits on how much air conditioning they can us le to cool their homes during this Summer’s heatwave. The government will not allow home and business thermostats to be set below 80 degrees Fahrenheit because of energy shortages.
It turns out Spain is no outlier. Italy has launched “Operation Thermostat” to ensure that schools and public buildings aren’t cooled in the summer to below 77 degrees Fahrenheit. The French government is also demanding that public buildings remain warm in the summer and cold in the winter.
