Joe Biden must be the WORST negotiator in the history of the planet.
The White House has announced at the COP28 Climate Change Conference that it will unilaterally impose regulations that will cost the U.S. economy a cool $1 trillion by ending methane emissions in the United States (methane is natural gas). Kamala Harris, a climate expert, warned the attendees at the climate conference: “The clock is no longer ticking, it’s banging. We must make up for lost time.”
This puts a regulatory chokehold on American oil and gas producers, while virtually no other country — especially not China — has agreed to do the same. The price tag: $1 trillion of your and my money.
Meanwhile, the rest of the world is using more natural gas than ever before. This reminds us of the famous scene in “Animal House” when Otter declares: “This situation absolutely requires a futile and stupid gesture be done on somebody’s part.” Bluto, played by John Belushi — but think Kamala — replies: “we’re just the guys to do it.”
As for China, President Xi, can’t even be bothered to participate (evidently he isn’t hearing any clocks banging) and he is surely falling off his throne in Beijing laughing at our inept stupidity and gullibility.
