The left’s favorite word these days is DEMOCRACY, as in “Donald Trump is a threat to our Democracy.” It’s seemingly every third word shrieked out of the mouths of congressional Democrats and MSNBC commentators.

Except that America is explicitly NOT a Democracy and we are not governed by “majority rules.” Rather, the United States is a Constitutional Republic that protects the rights of minorities against “the mob” – which was something the left used to appreciate and respect.

As we’ve often said on these pages: a democracy is two wolves and a sheep voting on what’s for dinner.
