The 8th – Louisiana – is a red state that only recently replaced a Democratic governor and has lots of catching up to do.
The latest state job numbers have just been released and they show a remarkably poor performance for high tax and Covid-lockdown states.
The chart below shows that two years after the end of the pandemic, eight states are still underwater on jobs.
Did we mention that nine of the 10 states with the highest job creation since 2020 are red states?
Every one of those red states kept their economy mostly open during COVID and four of the states have no income tax – including light blue Nevada.
The lesson: keep your taxes low and keep your economy open. How hard is that?
