Speaking of dangerous games, the House canceled their vote on the Senate budget amendment last night, after stalling for hours to round up the votes and coming up short.

The deficit hawks – many of whom are our friends – just don’t seem to understand that we are trying to head off a potential recession. That would tank revenues and make the deficit WORSE. If that happens, say goodbye to Republican majorities after the midterms.

There is no one in Washington who wants to cut bloated government spending more than us, but holding the tax bill hostage is a fool’s errand.
