The voters in Illinois must be suffering from Stockholm Syndrome. They’ve fallen in love with their captor – Governor JB Pritzker – who is running for a third term and is odds on favorite to win.
The state has been on an eight-year tailspin, and everything that could go wrong, has gone wrong. The state is perpetually broke, the schools don’t teach, Chicago is a mess, and people are leaving in droves.
Only two states have had a higher percentage of moving vans packing up and leaving than the Land of Lincoln in recent years. Things are so bad that more residents are leaving Illinois for the once-backwater states of Arkansas and West Virginia, than are relocating in the opposite direction. You know you’re in trouble when families are giving up on Illinois for the greener pastures of Wheeling.
Illinois is also now ranked the worst state in the Midwest for starting a business.
What’s especially demoralizing is that the media is all abuzz that this 300-pound heir to the Pritzker fortune is a potential Democrat nominee for president. He’s promising to do for the country what he’s done to Illinois.
