We’re all for using non-environmentally sensitive government land for development purposes to increase jobs, reduce the debt, and increase our national wealth. As we at UP have shown, the U.S. is sitting on a treasure chest of tens of trillions of dollars of energy and mineral resources.
What’s strange is that the climate change movement wants to industrialize the entire American landscape with windmills and solar farms.
That’s why we cheered out loud last week when the Trump administration canceled the 50,000-acre (!) Lava Ridge wind project in Idaho.
Energy expert Robert Bryce tells us: “During more than 15 years of reporting on the solar and wind projects, I’ve never seen anything like the opposition to the Lava Ridge wind project.” In 2013, the Idaho state legislature voted unanimously against the construction project.
The project would infringe on the Minidoka National Historic Site, which commemorates the incarceration of thousands of Japanese-American citizens during World War II.
Yet the “go green” Biden administration quietly approved the eyesore just weeks before Joe exited the White House.
Congrats to Interior Secretary Doug Burgum for pulling the plug. He reaffirmed his smart energy policy.
“We will no longer provide preferential treatment towards unreliable, intermittent power sources that harm rural communities, livelihoods and the land,” Burghum declared.
Well said, Mr. Secretary. Now cancel the dozens of other green energy scams that threaten to industrialize America’s purple mountains majesty.
