Have you noticed that these signs are springing up at the checkout lines at stores everywhere?

Retailers, who once rejected credit cards, now prefer, or even require, that you swipe or tap because of the speed of the transaction, lower handling costs, and much less theft.
Some states and localities are even moving bills to REQUIRE stores to take cash. That’s a bad idea as we move to a cashless society.
But an equally bad idea given this trend at retail stores is the credit card interest rate caps that the White House and many in Congress are supporting. (Price controls are always and everywhere a bad idea.) UP will be releasing a major study next week showing that millions of lower-income and low credit-score Americans would lose access to credit if those limits are put in place.
We wonder if the geniuses who support the rate caps have figured out what families will do if they lose access to their Visa and Mastercard. How will they buy their groceries and daily necessities?
For the record, we at UP are very happy to accept your cash, so feel free to stuff an envelope with Ben Franklins and send them our way.
