Dr. Mehmet Oz, who administers the Medicaid and Medicare programs for the federal government, has expanded the fraud busting program he started in Tim Walz’s Minnesota to all 50 states. Hooray!
He will require all states to submit a plan within 30 days on how they will revalidate Medicaid providers. States that don’t step up will face more aggressive audits by CMS.
The audits that have already taken place have hit a rich vein as hundreds of hospices in California have been revealed to be operating fraudulently.
