Well, chalk up another blow to the solar plexus of Blue State/Blue City America. It looks like unless there is some kind of divine intervention by the Pope from Chicago, the Bears will relocate to Hammond, Indiana.

Indiana (a red state with low taxes and pro-business policies) will have two NFL franchises and Illinois zero. Chicago – one of the original and storied franchises in the NFL – will be football-less.
Our view is that this outcome is a disaster for everyone. For the Bears franchise. For the Bears fans. For the NFL. For the hotels, restaurants, and stores in Downtown Chicago. And probably for the taxpayers of Indiana who are going to pay billions for the glitzy new stadium. It’s an outcome that only someone who’s never actually been to Hammond could love.
Congratulations to the complete incompetence of Governor JB Pritzker and Mayor Brandon Johnson for fumbling the ball on the two yard line.
What’s next? The Cubs leaving Wrigley Field for Austin, Texas?
Dick Butkus and Walter Payton are rolling over in their graves.
