We’ve made this point ad nauseum on these pages but the Stupid Party refuses to shout it out to voters. If they don’t start echoing this point, they deserve to lose.

The Left can’t possibly fix the affordability problem because the highest prices and costs are in blue states. The scatter plot below tells the whole story.

The x-axis measures how blue a state is (based on the % of the vote that went to Kamala Harris in the 2024 election). The y-axis measures the cost of living. It’s almost a perfect correlation – a near straight line. The bluer a state, the higher the costs.

In fact for each 1% increase in the Democratic vote share in a state, costs in that state rise by slightly more than 1%. This means that in a state where Dems have a 55% to 45% vote advantage are likely to see 10 percentage point higher prices than a red state where Republicans have a 55 to 45% advantage.

The Right could toss in another obvious point we keep making: the average inflation rate under Trump’s first term was 2%. The average inflation rate under Biden was 5%. The average inflation rate in Trump’s second term is 3%.

So how can putting the Left in charge reduce inflation? This would be like electing Al Capone as Mayor to reduce the murder rate.
