You may have heard the news as reported on CNN that 58% of Americans believe the Democrats are “too liberal.” That’s up from 42% who thought this a quarter century ago.

The most recent evidence of the Democrats’ dive off the deep end comes from the recent Democratic primary for a vacant congressional seat in New Jersey. The winner, Analilia Mejia, served as the political director of Bernie Sanders’ 2020 presidential campaign and as the leader of the New Jersey Working Families Party, an explicitly socialist organization. Try getting to the left of THAT?

We’re wondering how it is that only 6 of 10 voters think the Dem party is too liberal? Are there really 4 of 10 voters who aren’t sure or want the Democrats to move FURTHER to the left? CNN’s own polls find that 1 out of 3 Democrats self-identify as “Democratic Socialists.” Would they support Fidel Castro? Pol Pot?
