You’ve got to love the chutzpah of California’s Gavin Newsom. Yesterday, Governor Hair Gel slammed President Trump for high gas prices declaring they are “costing Americans $1.5 billion.”
Yes, we are all angry at the rise in gas prices. But here are the five states (all blue or purple) with the highest prices for filling up:
Thanks to California’s environmental laws and its shutdown of refineries, Golden State residents pay about $1.80 a gallon more than the national average. Sorry Gavin, there’s no blaming Trump for that. What’s most amazing is that California is one of the most energy-rich places on the globe, but they still charge the highest prices.
If Newsom were president and he pushed through the same energy laws as in California, this would cost Americans multiple times more than $1.5 billion.
