This blockbuster headline from Euronews instantly caught our attention:

According to the story, “the EU is working to avoid a tariff rate as high as 50% ahead of a 1 August deadline. It now appears that a 10% duty is on the table.”

This could be the trade deal of the century if Trump and the Europeans (more than 25 countries) can pull it off. We only hope that Trump will take our advice and push for a reciprocal tariff rate of zero – as he offered up in his first term.

Germany’s chancellor, Friedrich Merz, says he wants “a trade deal with the lowest possible tariffs” between the US and the EU.

Any deal that brings tariff rates down to 10% or less would uncork one of the great stock market booms of all time on both sides of the Atlantic.

Go for it, Mr. President.
