You’ve probably heard of Biden’s scheme to drain another one million barrels of oil out of the Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR) to try to bring gas prices down a bit this summer. The national average is about $3.69 a gallon. It was $2.42 when Biden entered office and declared war on fossil fuels. The latest withdrawal may reduce prices temporarily, by at most a nickel a gallon.
The SPR is now down more than 100 million barrels. What happens if we have a real emergency (hurricane, terrorist attack, Arab oil embargo), not a White House emergency? If you want lower gas prices, the best way to achieve that is drill, baby drill.
