You know a political party is in trouble when it controls the White House and both houses of Congress (and the media) and its top officials start blaming each other for a crisis.
Meanwhile, three Democratic Senators – Kyrsten Sinema, Mark Kelly, and Maggie Hassan – have issued a statement attacking the White House’s decision to end the strict pandemic border restrictions that have been in place for more than two years, known as Title 42. Hassen tweeted: ‘I am concerned that there is not a sufficient plan to address the steep increase in border crossings that could result from this reported decision.’
Then White House Chief of Staff Ron Klain claimed the decision to no longer expel migrants and or delay their asylum claims was made by the Centers for Disease Control and not President Biden while blaming the Dems in Congress for not approving enough border security spending.
Since Biden took office in January 2021, more than 2.2 million people have crossed the southern border and that number could explode once Title 42 is lifted. At least 170,000 migrants are waiting on the Mexico side of the border ready to cross as soon as Title 42 is lifted.
As for who is to blame for this fiasco, we choose all of the above.
