This headline from a news release from the Bureau of Labor statistics on firm relocations tells the same old story:

Over the last 30 years, Florida has generally been a top recipient of firms moving from one state to another. Over the same period, New York has lost the most firms to migration.

Florida has one of the lowest business taxes and New York has among the highest. It’s like a law of physics. Water flows downhill.
