We delivered three cheers for the Trump administration’s take down of the greenhouse gas “endangerment finding,” which declared falsely that CO2 emissions are a threat to human health.

That 2009 finding enacted by Obama’s EPA has been used by unelected bureaucrats to expand the federal government’s power over the economy for 17 years. One of the costliest rules ever was NEVER approved by Congress.

The Trump EPA is trying to prevent such rules from snapping back in the future unless Congress specifically votes to pass them. Last time we checked, the legislative branch – not the executive branch – makes the laws.

If climate change really is the imminent danger to the planet that the Al Gores of the world think it is, and the only solution is to shut down American energy production, then get a law passed in Congress.

But they can’t. That’s the real “inconvenient truth.”
