Caterpillar, the iconic manufacturer of tractors and other heavy equipment, is moving its headquarters from Illinois to Texas.
This comes on the heels of Boeing announcing a similar move of its operations to Virginia. Late last year, the insurance giant Allstate announced it was selling its longtime HQ in the Chicago suburbs.

Illinois has become a disaster zone of high taxes, soaring crime, punishing regulations, and a rotten business climate. Voters in the state elected four years ago one of the worst governors in America in J.B. Putzker ( er, Pritzker). He is up for re-election. We will see if voters reward him in November for a job so well done.
