Look at Congressional Democrats.
Yes, President Trump’s approval numbers are scraping 40%. In the new Quinnipiac University’s poll, House Democrats have a 47% to 43% advantage over Republicans in a generic House vote.
But that’s not the whole story. Quinnipiac shows Democrats in Congress with their lowest job approval EVER.
CNN data guru Harry Enten was in disbelief at that number, saying that “in the minds of the American public…” Democrats “…are lower than the Dead Sea.”
The specifics: “Overall, they are 55 points underwater. Their approval rating is south of 20%. It’s even worse when you look at independents. Look at this: -61 points! ….Quinnipiac has been polling this question for the better part of the 21st century. They have never found Democrats, at least those in Congress, in worse shape than they are right now.”
Democrats are up 4 points in the polls, but historically they are up close to 10 points at this juncture on the political calendar when there is a Republican in the White House.
Welcome to our two political parties: Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dumb.
