While Biden’s EPA was rolling out his EV mandate this week, Maine Governor Janet Mills saw her own plan to adopt California’s total ban on gas car sales rejected by the state’s Board of Environmental Protection.
The board had been set to adopt the gas car ban in December when a major winter storm and widespread power outages caused a postponement. Three months later the board voted to REJECT the governor’s proposal, even though Mills appointed every member of the board.
A citizen backlash made the difference.
“The Maine Board of Environmental Protection received nearly 1,800 comments from the people of Maine and nearly 84% were not in favor of this EV mandate,” Maine Senate Republican Leader Trey Stewart told Fox News Digital. “Maine is far too rural with far too few charging stations, and many Mainers are also concerned about the reliability of these vehicles in our extreme cold weather months.”
If this can happen in Maine, it can happen anywhere.
Power to the people right on!
