Indigenous Idiocy

Perhaps you’re behind the times and aren’t familiar with the new trendy term called “land acknowledgement.” A land acknowledgement is a formal recognition that the land where your home, farm, ranch, etc. rests on was originally occupied by indigenous peoples.

It’s classic leftist claptrap that makes rich people feel good about themselves.

But perhaps this fad has crested because even The New York Times and American Indians are making fun of it:

The Times ridicules these land acknowledgments, which were part of the Obama library dedication, as hollow gestures.

The most popular comment about the piece on the NYT website, captures our thoughts exactly:

The first time I heard a land acknowledgement, it caught my attention… it was novel and thought provoking. Eventually the practice became so commonplace that I realized it was simply  performative progressive virtue-signalling that was creedal in nature. Now I just roll my eyes and tune out.
