The AP set the record straight on this unforgivable State of the Union “lie:”

Trump declared:

“The revolution that began in 1776 has not ended. It still continues because the flame of liberty and independence still burns in the heart of every American patriot.”

Nope. AP assures us that the history books and Trump have it all wrong:

“To be clear, the American Revolution started the previous year, on April 19, 1775,” the fact checkers tell us.

Not to be outdone, the New York Times zapped Trump for this unforgivable blunder:

What a relief that we’ve got these media watchdogs keeping the facts straight. If these guardians of the galaxy had been around back during the Revolution that began in 1775 they no doubt would have exploded the legend that George Washington cannot tell a lie.
