Speaking of leftists governors, in November 2025 Abigail Spanberger won a double-digit victory in purple Virginia by running as a moderate. She was immediately heralded as the Left’s new great white hope and was touted as a possible Presidential or VP candidate for 2028.
Fresh out the gate, though, she sprinted to the left on a series of issues including a wildly-unpopular proposed tax increase on VA businesses. She also is heavily backing a flagrantly partisan gerrymandering proposal that would transfer control of four U.S. House seats from the GOP to the Democrats.
As a consequence, her approval rating has cratered. To arrest her free fall, she recently put out a press release boasting she’d already attracted more than 3,000 new jobs and $7 billion in new investment to Virginia – except those wins had already been posted by now-former Governor Glenn Youngkin who, if you check our Vote With Your Feet website, actually reversed the population decline in the commonwealth over his four years in office.
A real standup gal.
