Minnesota State Senator Omar Fateh just won the endorsement of Minneapolis Democrats in his race for Mayor. The political betting markets give Fateh about a 4-in-10 chance of defeating incumbent Mayor Jacob Frey.

Fateh wants sharply higher taxes on the “wealthy”, rent control, has supported defund the police, and just like New York’s Mamdani, he favors establishing city-owned grocery stores.
