We’ve raged on these pages that the left’s response to the modern muckrakers who are uncovering massive fraud in federal welfare programs is to attack the whistle blowers. They’re on the side of the criminals.

Minnesota’s child care fraud case, which has resulted in 98 indictments, entered the public consciousness after a 23-year-old independent journalist, Nick Shirley, posted a video exposé on X.

Veep JD Vance has rightly noted that Shirley is the Woodward/Bernstein of these times and deserves a Pulitzer. Shirley’s video went viral and contributed to the backlash against fraud.

You won’t believe this but the Dems in California want to shut Shirley up.

Shirley has lately been posting videos exposing a series of Medicaid and other fraud schemes in California. Rather than thank him for identifying the theft, the state’s Welfare Industrial Complex is pushing a bill through the legislature dubbed the “Stop Nick Shirley Act.”   Last month, it passed the Assembly on a 57 to 19 vote and is awaiting action in the State Senate.
