President Trump boasts that he’s made deals that will bring some $20 trillion of capital investment into the U.S. This is likely an exaggeration, but even if we use conservative estimates, that giant sucking sound you’re hearing is the United States attracting investment from the rest of the world. Even after adjusting for inflation, the capital inflows are multiple times higher than in previous years.
These trillions of dollars of investment are a big bet by foreigners that Trumponomics is pro-growth and the U.S. has the most favorable climate for profits.
Tax cuts, deregulation, and pro-business policies are luring capital for new manufacturing, construction, infrastructure, housing and technology.
It just goes to show that capital always flows to where it’s treated best. And if you don’t believe us, ask the Brazilians.
