The Mighty Powell Strikes Out

Some readers have complained that we are too tough on Fed chairman Jerome Powell when we say that it is time for him to go.

Really? His miserable performance speaks for itself.

In only one month of his 79 12-month periods as chairman of the Fed has the central bank been within 10% of their 2% target PCE inflation rate.

That’s a 0.013 batting average. It’s a far worse record than under previous Fed chairs Greenspan, Bernanke, and Yellen.

We need to get back to price stability and a strong dollar.
