Two Years After Covid: Red States Still Much Lower Unemployment Than Blue States

These two charts tell an amazing story of the incompetence of liberal Democratic governors. For two years now, blue states have had higher unemployment than red states in every month. The gap is hardly closing.

Then there is this. Eight of the 10 states that have recaptured the highest percentage of jobs lost from Covid through May 2022 have Republican governors. Seven of the 10 states with the smallest percentage of jobs regained have Democratic governors. Coincidence?

Remember, blue states were MUCH more likely to keep their businesses shut down during Covid and the negative impact on workers and small business owners persists to this day.

But there is an important asterisk to this story. Two Democratic governors, Jared Polis of Colorado and Roy Cooper of North Carolina have positive records and are the exceptions to the rule.
