The bipartisan Commission on Federal Election Reform – which was chaired by former President Jimmy Carter and former Secretary of State James Baker – overwhelmingly concluded that “vote by mail” did little to improve voter turnout but “is, however, likely to increase the risks of fraud and of contested elections….”

That’s turned out to be the understatement of the decade. The opportunities for fraud were magnified after 2020 due to relaxed bureaucratic rules issued during COVID. Today, 30% of votes are cast by mail.

President Trump issued an executive order last May directing the Postal Service to enhance ballot security by requiring states to provide lists of mail voters and use federally reviewed ballot envelopes with unique barcodes for tracking. A group of blue states immediately sued claiming the order violates the Voting Rights Act by intruding on their power to administer elections.

This week, the Supreme Court voted 6 to 3 to allow the Postal Service to implement the order.

Liberal states immediately refiled their lawsuit. Two days later the Postal Service rules were blocked again:

This will be appealed up to the Supreme Court again. But early voting begins next month.  The final decision will go down to the wire.

You don’t have to be a legal eagle to follow the scam that’s going on here. These states don’t want to deter the fraudulent voting that often goes undetected with mail-in ballots.

One might think that leftists who keep talking about dangers to democracy would do everything they could to protect the sanctity of the ballot. They do just the opposite.
