| 1) Mao the “Liberator” China’s 100th year anniversary of its Communist party’s founding has been deeply troubling to anyone who values human freedom. Historians still don’t know for sure how many Chinese were exterminated by Mao during his brutish “cultural revolution,” but it is surely in the tens of millions who died horrific deaths including torture and government-sponsored starvation. (The Economist reports that speaking publicly of this genocide is strictly forbidden in China.) This death total does not include the millions of women who were strapped on metal tables and were victims of forced abortions and involuntary sterilizations during the barbaric “one child” policy. (Amazing how many “feminists” support communism!) Among the three monsters of the 20th century – Hitler, Stalin, and Mao – historians are not clear on which one was responsible for the most murders and other atrocities – but it may well have been Mao. The exact body count is unknown because the numbers are so huge. It is sickening to us that on this 100th anniversary of the “revolution,” the Chinese ruling party (which professes not to be communist) celebrates Mao as a “liberator.” Light up the fireworks!!! What would we think if Germany put Hitler on its currency? Do the Cambodians celebrate Pol Pot? Alas, news reports from Russia suggest that Stalin too is making a cultural comeback among the young. Meanwhile, here in America Thomas Jefferson and George Washington have fallen out of favor. We wonder how many of our school-aged children, who are being taught that America is “systemically racist,” are learning ANYTHING of the atrocities of communism, Marxism, socialism, Maoism, and Nazism?  |
| 2) Co-Founder Calls Out Wikipedia As Hopelessly Biased Larry Sanger, a philosopher who co-founded Wikipedia in 2001, has sadly concluded that the free online encyclopedia is “more one-sided than ever” and so dominated by liberal sources that it is now “an opponent of vigorous democracy.” And freedom for that matter. “Wikipedia openly repudiates neutrality, and therefore it is shamelessly hypocritical in how it continues to pay lip service to its ‘neutral point of view’ policy,’” Sanger wrote on his website last week.  He notes that Fox News, the Daily Mail, and the New York Post— are “banned from use as sources by Wikipedia…With few exceptions, only globalist, progressive mainstream sources — and sources friendly to globalist progressivism — are permitted,” he continued. On the Trump impeachments: “The articles are so biased, in fact, that it is fair to call them ‘propaganda.’” On Hunter Biden scandals: “Wikipedia’s main article begins, ‘The Biden–Ukraine conspiracy theory is a series of unevidenced claims centered on the false allegation that while Joe Biden was vice president of the United States, he engaged in corrupt activities relating to the employment of his son Hunter Biden by the Ukrainian gas company Burisma.” Black Lives Matter: “Criticism of Black Lives Matter cannot be found in any form” with respect to last Summer’s riots. 2020 Election Claims: “Wikipedia’s articles on the 2020 election read like party propaganda.” Sanger’s conclusion: “I maintain that Wikipedia has become an opponent of vigorous democracy.” https://larrysanger.org/2021/06/wikipedia-is-more-one-sided-than-ever/ |
