We’re pleased that we are now up to 24 governors who have heeded our call to eliminate Biden’s extra $300 a week unemployment benefits – or what is now being called the “stay-at-home bonus.” Alas, not ONE Democratic governor has endorsed going back to normal benefits in order to get workers back on the job. And as we showed in yesterday’s Hotline, these are the states with the highest unemployment rates. Go figure!
In case you are wondering, the three Republican governors who have not canceled the extra benefits despite record job openings are:
- Larry Hogan of Maryland
- Charlie Baker of Massachusetts
- Phil Scott of Vermont
