Happy Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Here’s hoping and praying that we “judge people by the content of their character, not the color of their skin.” The left doesn’t seem to want to do that.

| 1) Biden’s First Day Executive Order: Cancel the Keystone XL Pipeline We warned that Biden’s agenda would kill jobs, but we didn’t expect it would come on his first day in the White House. On Wednesday, Biden will rescind approval of the multi-billion dollar Keystone XL Pipeline that would carry oil and gas from Canada and the Dakota’s down to Texas. Obama blocked it; Trump approved it as part of his successful energy independence program; and Biden will rescind it as part of what is shaping up to be a radical climate change agenda. That means thousands of lost construction and unionized blue-collar jobs in both Canada in the U.S. – sacrificed at the altar of global warming fanaticism. It’s an out-of-the-gate sign to the industrial labor unions that the Democrats’ anti-fossil fuel green agenda will take high precedent over the blue-collar agenda. This move is also harmful to the environment because pipelines are a much safer way to transport oil and gas than tankers and rail cars. It’s also ironic that Biden and the Democrats say they will create millions of jobs with a $1 trillion infrastructure bill, but their first order of business is to kill a massive infrastructure project that doesn’t cost taxpayers a penny. So we can’t get pipelines built in the U.S., but Russia and China have just agreed on a massive $10 billion-plus pipeline to link their two countries. What’s wrong with this picture? | 2) Has the Winter Peak Passed? Finally, some good news on the virus front. Nationally, COVID hospital census peaked on January 6 and has been declining.  Cases are now falling week-on-week in 35 states.  Deaths will continue at elevated levels for the next few weeks, especially in California, but the worst of this winter wave may finally be over. Expect Biden to take credit for the decline. |
