1) Ripley’s Believe It Or Not
Securities and Exchange chairman Gary Gensler explains why he wants new federal regulations on cryptocurrencies:
“The industry is like the Wild West… and is rife with fraud, scams, and abuse.”
Huh?
This from the same administration in Washington that runs an unemployment insurance program that has made an estimated $50 billion in hundreds of thousands of fraudulent payments over the past year – with many of the checks deposited into bank accounts of scamsters who live in Nigeria, West Africa, and China!
And now these geniuses want to oversee and regulate Bitcoin.
What’s next? Andrew Cuomo to oversee a commission on sexual predators?
Dems in Congress want to tax Bitcoin and now the Biden team wants to regulate these private currencies. They should tread carefully; a new poll from David Winston finds that a majority of young voters have crypto in their financial plans.

2) Biden Knew His Eviction Moratorium Was Unconstitutional
Punchbowl News reports that Biden told Pelosi “his legal advisers were warning him that he couldn’t extend the moratorium due to a June 29 Supreme Court ruling.” The court let the moratorium stand in a 5-4 decision, but Justice Brett Kavanaugh said the CDC had “exceeded its existing statutory authority” and Congress must act to extend the ban. This isn’t ambiguous.
But reportedly Pelosi told Biden that Laurence Tribe, the well-known Harvard Law professor, believed he had the legal authority to defy the court. Tribe encouraged White House officials to move ahead with the revised moratorium.
Tribe is the same law professor whose anti-Trump-derangement-syndrome drove him into a madness that has been on full public display for years.
We suspect that Biden also assumed correctly that the media would cheer the lawlessness. (See CNN coverage below.) With the left, the ends always justify the means.
Try to imagine how different the headlines would be if a Republican president defied the Supreme Court!
