You’ve got to love rich, self-righteous liberals. In case you missed it, Stephen Colbert, the smug host of the CBS Late Show, used his monologue to defend $4.50 a gallon gas prices. “Okay, that stings, but a clear conscience is worth a buck or two,” Colbert lectured his audience of mostly young turks, who cheered wildly. “I’m willing to pay $4 a gallon. Hell, I’ll pay $15 a gallon because I drive a (electric) Tesla.” More cheers.
So multimillionaire Colbert supports a financial sacrifice, but he personally won’t bear any of the costs. Working class Americans with real jobs outside of Hollywood will. His $95,000 Tesla S is more than twice as expensive as the average American car.
