We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again. Something big is happening with voters this year and it’s flattening progressive Democrats. Who are on the wrong side of the debate on inflation, gas prices, crime, Critical Race Theory, and the closure of public schools—to name a few.

Consider this week’s election results:

In Kenosha, Wisconsin – the scene of riots and looting in the summer of 2020 after the murder of George Floyd. GOP State Rep. Samantha Kerkman made public safety a key issue in victory this week for county executive – the first time that the office has been won by a Republican in a quarter century.. “Over the last 10 years, violent crime in Kenosha County has increased over 30 percent,” she told voters. “I will combat it.”

Republicans also won the county executive position in Portage County, home of a major university in Stevens Point. The last time Portage went Republican for president was in 1956 when Ike was running.

School board races in the city of Waukesha saw three incumbents defeated by conservative challengers. One of the winners, Catholic school teacher Marquell Moorer, campaigned against Black Lives Matter.

As a university town of 128,000 people, Norman is a liberal dot in the Red Sea of Oklahoma. But Mayor Breea Clark responded to COVID by issuing an outdoor mask mandate, closed the city’s golf courses and cut the police force’s budget. She was ousted by Republican Larry Heikkila this week.

A political tsunami is coming this fall.
