Trump has become the biggest advocate in Washington for ensuring American tech superiority.
Democrats have rallied behind policies – from antitrust lawsuits to regulations to new wealth taxes – aimed at slowing down and pillaging profits from the California-based tech companies. And yet Big Tech keeps masochistically pouring hundreds of millions of dollars into the coffers of the Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warrens of the world as well as the DNC.
So do the employees of these $100 billion-plus tech firms. A recent study by The San Francisco Chronicle revealed what we’ve long suspected: the employees of the many of the state’s largest employers give overwhelmingly to Democrats in federal campaigns.
Here are the political donation figures for the 2024 election cycle and the first part of the 2026 cycle:
- Netflix – 99%
- Airbnb – 99%
- University of California – 98%
- Salesforce – 98%
- LinkedIn – 97%
- Google – 96%
- Meta (formerly Facebook) – 96%
- Apple – 94%
- Oracle – 88%
These are the very firms – some of which support UP by way of full disclosure – that profess to support diversity of viewpoints. Sure.
