We noted last week that Canada’s Prime Minister Mark Carney is playing a dangerous game in his romance with the European Union. The divorce he’s seeking would be bad for the United States and catastrophic for Canada.

We need a U.S. – Canada detente.

The chart below shows that the northern states of America have significant and advantageous commercial/trade ties to Canada. Severing those trade routes is a lose-lose proposition for both nations. Trump is the master of the art of the deal. Let’s get one done with Canada that lowers tariffs to close to zero on both sides.
