Is there a dumber union leadership in American history than the United Mine Workers Association? The overriding goal of the Build Back Better bill is to provide $550 billion for green energy subsidies and energy mandates meant to kill America coal production. Wipe coal right out of existence.
But in a an extraordinary letter written to Joe Manchin, UMWA President Cecil Robert’s wants the West Virginia Senator to reconsider his opposition.
“We are disappointed that the bill will not pass,” Roberts said. “We urge Senator Manchin to revisit his opposition to this legislation and work with his colleagues to pass something that will help keep coal miners working (sic).”
The union wants more funding for victims of black lung and other benefits to laid off coal miners. But If this BBB bill passes, there won’t be any miners left working in states like West Virginia and the UMWA will be defunct – with the latter being a good thing.
