Japan has a total fertility rate of 1.15 children per adult woman – which is near the world’s lowest rate. Japan had under 700,000 births last year for the first time since 1899.

But Washington DC’s total fertility rate of 1.11 is even lower than Japan’s.

The city that writes America’s family policy has a lower birth rate than a country that has become known globally for demographic collapse.

Regular HOTLINE readers know that blue states are increasingly babyless. The latest data show Vermont is at 1.27, followed by Rhode Island (1.33), New Hampshire (1.35), Oregon (1.36), Massachusetts (1.38).

Then the contrast: South Dakota at 2.04 is the only state essentially at replacement, followed by Nebraska (1.92), Idaho (1.82), North Dakota (1.81), Kentucky (1.80).

Ironically, blue states are the ones that promote themselves as “pro-family.” Uh huh.
