How Is it that Gas Costs $2 a Gallon More in California than in Florida?

We can’t wait for the big red state v. blue state debate featuring Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and California Governor Gavin Newson. They are both leading presidential wannabes – if not in 2024 then certainly in 2028. Almost one-fifth of all Americans (62 million) live in one of the two states. Our friend Sean Hannity will be moderating the debate on Fox News at 9 pm eastern this Thursday (Nov. 30).

If this is a debate on substance, not style, DeSantis will win in a cakewalk.

Here’s just one amazing contrast between the two states. In Florida today the price of gas is $3 a gallon. In California, it’s $5 a gallon for regular unleaded. California imposes high taxes and regulatory clean air laws in CA raise the price too.  But here’s what’s even more amazing: even though California is all in on green energy, the air quality is better in Florida than in California. Go figure.
