In Alaska It’s Sullivan v Sullivan

Control of the U.S. Senate could be determined by the close race for Senate in Alaska, where GOP incumbent Dan Sullivan is seeking re-election – against Dan Sullivan. This was an ingenious plot by Dems to intentionally confuse voters and steal a Senate race.

Back in 2020, Alaska voters narrowly approved a new primary system putting the top four finishers on the November ballot. Voters then use ranked-choice voting to rank all four and then their votes shift in multiple rounds of counting in which the bottom finishers are eliminated until a final winner emerges.

Elections since then have featured complexity, confusion and delay. In 2022, there were 17 candidates for governor, 16 for the U.S. Senate, and 15 for the state’s lone House seat.  An effort to repeal the whole scheme in 2024 failed by only 50.1% to 49.9%.

In the Senate race, Daniel J. Sullivan, a retired Illinois teacher with a history of backing Democrats and who shares the same first and last name with Senator Sullivan, made the final list of four candidates. The process has clearly been manipulated to steer votes to a decoy candidate in an effort to elect the Democrat, Mary Peltola.

Remember this the next time you hear the Left whine about “dangers to democracy.”  They’ve turned stealing elections into an art form.
