We got a lot of pushback from HOTLINE readers on our “Dow One Million” prediction earlier this week. (We like the feedback, positive and negative, so keep ’em coming.) The complaint was: past performance is no guarantee of future success.

Our point is that this maxim is TRUE in the short term, as we’ve already learned at least three times this century, but not in the long run.
