Senator Joe Manchin on “Meet the Press” yesterday:

“We have the energy, we have the resources here. And we have the technology. We’re a million barrels short a day right now that we could just ramp up like that. We can do certain things. And we don’t have to put any more pain on the American people who are already suffering with inflation now.”

Manchin rightly added that when it comes to energy production: “we do it cleaner than anybody else in the world.”

He complained that a Mountain Valley pipeline in West Virginia that would “take two billion cubic feet (of natural gas) a day, into the marketplace immediately is 95 percent done” but can’t get a permit.

Yet, the latest news reports are that Biden is pushing hard on tens of billions of dollars of added subsidies for wind and solar energy.
