Our UP economist, EJ Antoni, has just updated his jobs chart by state. From 2020 through May of 2026, 9 of the 10 states with the fastest private sector job growth are red states. And nine of the 10 states with the fewest private payrolls added were blue states.

Coincidence? We don’t think so.
