Whatever happened to sane Democrats? They’re becoming an endangered species.

The Democratic Socialists of America is now the country’s fastest-growing political force. They are slowly swallowing the Democratic Party like a python.

They captured big wins in New York City in yesterday’s primaries with candidates backed by Zohran Mamdani. This comes on the heels of winning mayoral races in Seattle, and, last week, Washington D.C.  DSA member, Nithya Raman, is leading in polls against incumbent Karen Bass in the November race for mayor of Los Angeles.

CNN data analyst Harry Enten notes that the DSA has a net favorability rating of +17 among Democrats, compared with just +4 for congressional Democrats.

How deranged is this movement? Here are some planks of the DSA agenda:

• abolish the U.S. Senate
• defund the Pentagon
• offer universal amnesty to illegal immigrants
• free public transportation and housing
• transfer ownership of major corporations to the public
• cut police budgets “annually to zero.”

Our political insiders warn that if these trends continue, AOC has a good chance to be the Democrats’ nominee for president in 2028.
